Staff Analysis of the Legislation
This legislation increases the minimum amount of time a person convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol  or drugs for the first time must serve in jail from ten to thirty days. It also prohibits these first offenders from receiving earned time allowances for time spent on an inmate work detail.
